Default Platinum 3776 in Deep Dark Blue?

    Hello

I recently bought what I thought was a black Platinum Century 3776. At the Chicago Pen Show, the Platinum guy showed me that it is really a very deep blue. As I was pressed I didn't ask him for history, details, etc.

Can anyone tell more about the dark blue color? Its not the current Chartres Blue. Its much darker.

That's interesting, and I'll be curious if anyone can shed light. I know there are older models of the 3776 that are in interesting materials but nothing like that in recent years, to my knowledge. I'll get out my copy of Lambrou's FPoJ tonight and take a look...

    Photos might help.
There is a current color called Midnight Ocean.
Did you get a box? Is there a model number?
    What color trim?

The Midnight Ocean is celluloid. Rather nice, but IMHO not quite as nice as the koi or sakura :-)

There's also a 'jeans' or 'indigo' LE with Usagiya, but I haven't seen that in person.

Well, THANKS for pointing out a very good resource! I was unaware of that site and it will help a lot for the more obscure models. Thank you, Yazeh!
