    Default EFNIR: Sheaffer Skrip Black

Extra Fine Nib Ink Review: Sheaffer Skrip Black

This is review #234 in my series. Here's the YouTube video:

Post-recording notes: This black leans cool, but looks neutral until I put it next to other blacks. Noodler's Borealis Black is the closest comparison I have. I fell asleep while looking at the slide under the microscope... This ink needs good paper. Cleaning was quick and easy. The images all look sufficiently black to me....

Zoomed in photo (You can see a little feathering here. I think this ink must have a lubricant that encourages this. Stick with good paper!)

    Great review @LizEf,
It's a pity that such a historical brand is going downhill, unless the new owners manage to revive it
Now what is Makabesh doing on grandma's lap? I guess he needs a break from adventure. Though he's not a cat per se, is he? If he were he couldn't go on adventures, could he?
    Love the quote
    Looking forward to next week!

Yeah, no idea how this might compare with previous versions - Sheaffer is such an old brand. And I'm not even sure you can get it right now.

    Dear Liz,

You know you have too much ink when you can't remember whether you have this one. 😜 So I don't have a dry time in mind.

I wonder who that old lady is. Not just any old lady?

    Song: Art Blakey's Moanin'.

Thanks as always for these reviews AND my favorite serial. Now I need to go upstairs and see whether this is one of my blacks. Hmmm, I know there's JH Perle Noir…and Waterman….
My other pen is a Montblanc.

And my other blog is a tumblr!

And my latest ebook, for spooky wintery reading:

There's a reason I made a database to track my inks and reviews...

Is it a spoiler to reveal there's nothing more? Makhabesh was just trying to disappear in the crowd so the angry boatmen wouldn't find him. (That doesn't get mentioned anywhere later.) So yeah, she was just some old lady who mistook him for a kitty. At least, if she's something more, even I don't know it yet.

Not sure what the relation is, but I'm listening to it now, and I like it! Thanks!

I love that song, and there seemed to be a lot of… moanin' … in the background. 😉
