As the heading suggests, I can happily call myself a collector of pens. A pen collector. All beit a very small collection, but a collection none the less.
I own, in my 'collection', an Oversize 1950 Senator Piston Filler with a Blue ink view window, as well as beautiful Swan Flat Top Side filler.
These pens have been lovingly restored at the hands of Deb, from www.goodwriterspens.com.
The postman tried to deliver the parcel yesterday, but my wife was at work, and I'm unable to go to the door, so he left a card through the letterbox to say he'd try tomorrow (today) because a signature was required.
At 1109 this morning, the postman knocked on the front door (not twice), and my wife signed for my babies. I'm a daddy. LOL
Anyway, I asked my wife to choose the ink for the pens.... in the flat top, she chose Iroshizuku 'tsuki-yo', and in the Senator she chose Diamine 'Sherwood Green'. They write like a dream, and tomorrow I will be using them to practise my writing on a clean pad of Clairefontaine 'squared'.

Congratulations - they'll have been beautifully and sympathetically restored, without overdoing things. I hope you'll all be a very happy family.

Just a word of caution, a lot of Japanese inks are strongly alkaline. This can be a very bad thing for latex sacs. There are many schools of thought on this, but this article might be useful:

By all means experiment, but I'm pretty reckless about my inks, and I still try to avoid using very saturated, alkaline Japanese inks in my latex sacced pens. Most of the older style inks (most Waterman, most Diamine, Pelikan etc) are more acid, and ideal for these, however.

No camera needed when you have a phone. Transfer pics from phone to PC then post them on here from PC using Manage Attachments

Nicely done and congrats! I've had a nice time getting to know Deb (and Mr.) over the last few years, and always admired her penwork. Naturally, pens ended up winging their way to the West. Here's a quick shot on my desktop, some of the daily users, and you'll notice the sweet Swan 3360 nestled in there, inked up with Adkkerman Delftes Blauw. I think of Deb every time I use it!
