    Opps! The 111 confused me in my quick search. But I did find a 10gr pot of 111 silicone for a reasonable price. Happy you did too.

    The 146 has returned to its roost. It works smoothly, and writes beautifully.

    This is great news, thanks for the follow-up.

    In the grand scheme of things, this is pretty simple, straight forward work.
    So, I think your characterization of the repair person as an "artist" is a bit over the top. "Competent" is probably a better word.

    This said, there are a lot of hackers out there; not everyone who purports to do pen repairs has the skill set (and/or tools) to do this work.
    So, your due diligence in finding someone who was capable of doing the work was time well spent.
