    Default Fake Pen?

I have come across MB pen for sale locally, the problem is the box looks weird and I can't find any images of MB pens in boxes like it, would anyone be able to help me tell if it is real or fake?

It is worth noting the seller claims it was a gift from 10 to 20 years ago and they forgot about it, hence why its unopened.

It looks like the type of box that is sold in airports and on planes as its lighter weight and easier to carry in those situations. You might be able to check out that code number and see if it comes up as anything to do with a Montblanc pen.

No-one can tell you whether the pen is authentic or not until it's out of the box and there are detailed photos to show specific points to check.

Thank you for your reply, I decided I didn't want to risk getting a fake so I called off the transaction

Good call. I once bought the exact same thing, and it looked really suspicious. In the end, it turned out to be a fake. It was so frustrating!

Definitely this looks like a fake MB. Even a real Chinese normal plastic pen never comes in a such a poor Packing like that. It is covered with a cling film and a have a band of scan code.
I had an encounter with a scammer on Ebay and the first clue was the price, I just bought it and checked the pen really in my hand. then returned it. It happened only once and I know how to recognise it at my first glance now.
Another thing I believe is none of the Mb pen had a open see through pen box. I have several older vintage cheaper budget Mb. they all had some display box to present the pen exclusively. Even a refill to a spare part to a pen they had that attention to detail presentation in all of their products.

If someone sells a pen as second-hand to a good eye it is easy to scan the authenticity.
I know a seller who sell Mb togather with many writing instruments and they are real Pens.

Cyril this thread was resurrected by the spammer rosiewilson1w and a spam link was added between the two images. OP posted in 2023 and hasn't been back. With all of these spammers around, it's always worth checking the date of the OP before posting.
Also, these pens are still sold in these boxes on aircraft where they need the lighter weight. I have seen authentic Montblanc pens sold in boxes like this.
