you can just make out the manufacturer and country of origin on the far edge of the nib...

But what is the function of the tab over the back end of the slit? Does it slide to change the tension when the tines are pressed to paper? Is it designed to carry ink to the nib? Is it merely a wisersturm and its purpose shall remain afterward then it be noone?
So many questions!
