Yours isn't that bad! Take away the computer and it's as clear as mine. Though at the moment mine is covered in paints and paper.

A mess! In the cupboard underneath, I store letters in either plastic food bags or zip wallets. Bureau more of a storage place than writing desk but there is space! Just under the clock, I put letters ready to be sent. There are three I was unable to post today.

It is! I've taken many a study-break nap (both intentional and otherwise) in that chair. It was a gift from the academic dean (my former theology prof). The president of the college got new office furniture, so the academic dean got his hand-me-downs, and I got the chair before the vp of student affairs knew what was going on.

P.S. for the record, I do not smoke (apart from the occasional cigar-during warm months, and always outside). The ashtray belonged to my paternal grandfather. Now it has spent matches in it from lighting candles, but the best use I had for it was some 10-12 years ago when I used it to hold trail mix to keep my daughter occupied while I was trying to do my college coursework.
I keep telling Mrs Bogon I need a chair like that to help me write properly ..... and also a desk plus a seaside view.

I need a nice chair to go with my bureau. The current one is falling to bits a little.

Morgaine--I think we are desk-twins. Mine looks a LOT like yours. The problem is I am always tidying, but somehow it never gets tidy. I can't figure that out. I keep getting distracted. (Pens, ink, more pens, more ink--what's to distract me?)

Alright, I'll bite... My main desk, probably more interesting to FPGeeks than the electronics bench off to the left. Bonus points to anyone who can identify the nature of the soup can on the left side, just behind the Lamy ink...

And yes, that's a Vim cheatsheet front-and-center - just as I prefer fountain pens for writing on paper, I prefer a text editor with a proper manual gearbox for writing code!

Here is my writing space. I churn out way too many postcards from here.

And my rack of inked pens:

    It most certainly is.

I filled several more pens for the Central Penn Pens meeting and added them until the rack was full of fountain pens. It'll make this more fun.

    Left to right, top photo:
    - black Parker 51 factory BB double jewel with hand-hammered sterling cap by Rick Krantz,
    - gray Parker Vacumatic pencil with ballpoint conversion by Carl Seidl (Pens of Dis-Ink-Tion)
    - marine green Balance senior lever-filler with EF flex nib
    - Montblanc Proust with F nib, just back from Hamburg
    - black lifetime Snorkel with wide band and very smooth F conical nib
    - BCHR Conklin 40 crescent-filler with gold band and EF flex nib
    - red and black mottled HR Swan MabieTodd (NYC) Eternal 44 with factory stub nib
    - Montblanc 100th Anniversary heritage rollerball
    - chrome and cordovan lifetime Snorkel with smooth M open nib
    - turquiose Spencerian (made by Conklin) with F flex nib
    - woodgrain HR Wahl-Eversharp Personal Point with Gregg cap and EEF flex nib
    - very early mottled HR Conklin crescent-filler with No. 5 EF flex nib
    - early Weidlich BHR with GF overlay matchstick-filler with EF flex nib

Rotating the rack 180 degrees reveals two more pens in the second photo:

    - pearl and black Sheaffer Balance OS with unusual M flex nib
    - BCHR Conklin 4NL crescent-filler with wide gold engraved filigree band and EF flex nib

I write with them all, except the marine green Balance needs a bit of tweaking the nib and feed for better flow.

    Fred

Back in there somewhere I noted an open humidor with pens spread out across the top lift out tray. That's a cool idea. I've got a number of humidors I could convert and use the open area in the bottom to store boxed bottles of ink. I like it.
