My lovely and talented wife made that for me. Here's a couple photos of it next to my old pen roll:
Yea, and you wonder why you have me laughing all the time? And how do I make legalese easy to understand? I thought my answer to that was already duly incorporated by reference and duly noted. It is apparent that such a conclusion on my part lacked the well nigh irrefragable proof that you deem necessary and relevant for purposes of your own contemplation. But it is pretty easy. Trust me. After all, I am a licensed professional and they don't call it practicing law for naught. :sly:

This may explain some aspects of the InCoWriMo letters some of you will receive.

Whoa! There is no way to beat that, except to get out of your way (pun intended, please take no offense). I think the pen wrap your wife made for you is really outstanding! (My favorite color, too.)

Thank you, cwent2. It was a belated birthday present to myself after a small tornado took out the back side of my home (on the eve my birthday) a few years back and I had to have it repaired and refurnished.
Indeed, I love that writing desk Kia!

Agreed. I'd wanted a Captain's/Davenport for a long time, but the antiques like this are hard to come by. The "knockoffs" are way too expensive for the cheap imitations they are. I was fortunate to get this one, the price was right, and the antiques dealer - out of state - put it on a truck that was already headed to California, so it had to come right by me anyway and I didn't get charged an arm and two legs for freight. Since he did that for me, I picked up the chair from him, too.

The dealer had - and still has - another Captain's/Davenport that is nice, but it doesn't have the detail of mine. Plus, the price is way over what I paid for mine. It is in pristine condition, though, whereas mine has a couple of flaws. I love mine, though. I keep checking back, even though I don't have any kind of discretionary income anymore, simply because I love his pieces. http://www.bargainjohn.com/product-category/furniture/
Kia, that ink cabinet is stunning, but that desk actually made me gasp. That is the best looking desk that I have ever seen.

I agree. That ink desk is something else. Thanks for sharing those lovely pictures Kimmy!
Edit: While I'm here, also thanks to 00photo for that unique croc pen roll.
