    Cool Organcis Studio Manganese

Welcome to a dusky blue-black by Organics Studio from the Elements series, made in Maryland, USA.
Ink is muted, with lubrication slightly below average.

    From Vanness website:

THE ELEMENTS SERIES – our take on a collection of the essential colors of any writing ink collection. These fountain pen inks makeup a set of ‘simple’ colors, tasked with coloring the basic spectrum of pure colors. These chemistry-themed inks were our first foray into the ink world, and have stuck with us ever since.

    and about Manganese.
Manganese was first isolated in 1774 by Johan Gahn. It is used for its various oxidation states as the colorant for commercial pigments. It is also a crucial component of steelmaking.

    Let's start with the chroma:

    · What I did not like: Lack of water resistance....
    · What some might not like: Muted/ dusky colour....

    · Ghosting: No. Only if you insist writing with a gusher on copy paper
    · Bleed through: Same as above.
    · Flow Rate: Wet
    · Lubrication: Slightly below average. Much better than Blue Merle
    · Nib Dry-out: No.
    · Start-up: No.
    · Saturation: I would call it dusky blue black.
    · Shading Potential: Yes
    · Sheen: Not noticed.

    · Nib Creep / “Crud”: Not noticed.
    · Staining (pen): No.

Curses! That's another really nice colour (I'm really enjoying Blue Merle).

Thank you for another fab review with some more enchanting artwork.

Because I'm not that worried about water resistance, I'm sorely tempted, but I'm trying very hard to be good this month! It's definitely on the list though.

    I know, right?

This is why I try to avoid peeking into this sub.

    Nice review.

It's really a nice dusky blue-black. But thankfully, I've enough IG blue-blacks to not be tempted

I avoid peeking at the pen sub for the same reason.

Yum! Love this color. It's right up my alley. I may have to break down and get some. Onto the list it has gone. Also love that washed out kitty with the really long tail... But most of all, the artwork! It's the perfect color for a thunderstorm! Love our kitty and mouse watching the storm and clouds. Thank you, Yazeh, for a great review!

    51 items at the moment...

Right? I add these to the list and decide later what, if anything, to do with them - usually, I'll just sample inks that look interesting to me.

    Hello,

As usual. Awesome review. I love the blue. Like the blue used in registry offices when they write out birth certificates.
Love the artwork. Glad the cat isn't in the tree this week what with the lightning about.

Then you would like Diamine Registrars ink and Essri. Both are iron gall inks

I had this color as well as the OS Blue Merle, when I did an exploration of blue-blacks. One of them developed some sort of STUFF in it that did not belong; can't recall which.

But I love this color family, as well as the artwork! The silver outline really adds a nice dimension. I see Mousie has a bright red umbrella; is Kitteh being stoic about the rain?

Thanks so much for another fantastic review, Yazeh!

I believe it could have been the greyish version of Blue Merle
