    Default Fascism

I was reading recently about fascism and fascists, and these are some of the common things they do:

    1. Laws promoting the seizure of guns from law-abiding citizens and/or the denial of gun ownership rights for law-abiding citizens.
    2. Censorship of free speech by pretending such censorship protects the citizenry from faulty information.
    3. Government control of industry.
    4. Government control of the mass media.
    5. Children belong to the State and not their parents.
    6. Political dissidents are to be persecuted for "crimes" under the color of law through the courts.
    7. Political dissidents are locked up for months/years without a trial.
    8. All policies are to be based on a fierce adherence to a preferred ideology.
    9. Control of the entertainment industry as a means of propaganda.
    10. Accuse dissidents of the very crimes you yourself commit.
    11. Justify all of it for the "common good."

How exactly is the right "fascist"? This seems to describe the Democrats.

The leftists do like to say it’s “far-right”. The socialists also conveniently ignore the nazis were socialists, as they call the “far-right” nazis.

It’s always the leftists doing the fascist things though.

Perhaps you should revisit the list and pay particular attention to number 10.

Trump accuses everyone who opposes him with cheating and rigging the system, if it opposes him. I am not surprised that you didn't consider before your OP.

Au contraire!! Your OP introduced, "How exactly is the right "fascist"? This seems to describe the Democrats", politics. It is only reasonable that I mention the reigning Republican's actions, life philosophy, and words.

    That's confusing Fascism with fascism.

The chance that he will understand the point you are making is ZERO!
But, good try, it is a very valid observation!

What is the difference? The OP wrote, "I was reading recently about fascism and fascists, and these are some of the common things they do:" Then, using a straw man argument, labeled Democrats as exemplifying his chosen definition. Even historians do not always agree on a definition. Then, he/she/ they add this, " Accuse dissidents of the very crimes you yourself commit." This is the point of my reply. His chosen messiah being Trump, although carefully closeted and passive aggressively defended, does it all the time and he is not a Democrat. Has the OP proven to your satisfaction, that Democrats are fascists? Does he, they, or she have a point?

I simply asked a question after pointing out some inconvenient truths.

It seems to have triggered you into mentioning it across several threads.

How exactly is the right "fascist"? This seems to describe the Democrats.
If you want to read something serious about Fascism, start here: Robert O. Paxton, The Anatomy of Fascism, 2007.

Paxton demonstrates that fascist movements rose in Italy and Germany when traditional conservative parties faced open elections against mass parties -- fully legalized social democratic parties backed by united labor organizations. The conservative elites could not compete in elections or in the streets. German conservatives supported various crazy right-wing outfits, finally winnowing the collection to the Nazis, and, in 1933, assuming that they would brush Nazis aside.

    That's fascism.

What you have given us, dneal, is a bag of superficial current US right-wing lines. You have been smarter than this. Go read something serious.

Paxton's book is available from Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/Anatomy-Fasci...ps%2C73&sr=8-1

I’m well versed in Mussolini’s fascism, Hitler’s national socialism, and Lenin’s communism.

I’m also very familiar with leftists pointing their fingers and screaming “fascist” at everything they don’t like. They’ve been doing it for over 50 years.

The inconvenient truth remains that it is the Democrats now advocating the points in the OP. An Amazon link to a book doesn’t change that, and your post doesn’t address it other than to call it “right wing”.

The irony that you posted this nonsense as an attempted “burn” is lost on you.
