Default EFNIR: Private Reserve Infinity Turquoise

Extra Fine Nib Ink Review: Private Reserve Infinity Turquoise

This is review #262 in my series. Here's the YouTube video:

Post-recording notes: This is your standard turquoise, the one that every manufacturer makes. Cleaning was easy with just water, an extra flush may be required - it was quite saturated. A longish dry time is not unexpected given that the ink is designed not to dry quickly on the nib... The camera didn't quite capture the color right, so just look at the comparison turquoises like Waterman, Pelikan, or Sheaffer - it's just like those.

I tested the cap off & idle dry time and found this one lasted longer than some previous ones - perhaps due to more humid weather. At 30 minutes, it seemed to struggle a little on the first stroke, but still wrote a visible line. 60 minutes was about the limit for me - it wrote, but just barely and not acceptably. After several strokes, it was writing fine, though. The ink was noticeably darker after the idle time.

The microscope slide was one of the most boring I've ever seen.

Errata: In the story, between the white light blinding Quin and the bones clattering, I forgot to write this line, which is important: Quin felt a surge of power swell around and in him.

Zoomed in photo (The text is too light, almost baby-blue compared to what I see on the page, not exactly, but I don't know how else to describe it.)

Screenshot (This is the closest, but it seems a little flat and maybe too green.)

Scan of Completed Review (This seems a bit too pale and slightly too green to me.)

Absorbent Paper Close-up (top is puzzle paper like thick newsprint, bottom is old 20lb copy paper) (Too neon-like! The zoom camera really didn't like this ink. )

Line width (One of the lines used for dry time. Magnification is 100x. The grid is 100x100µm. The scale is 330µm, with eleven divisions of 30µm each. The line width for this ink is roughly 288µm. With 262 inks measured, the average line width is 296µm.)

    Previous Review: Cross Black.

Thanks for another excellent review of a subpar ink Nevertheless, it's a colour that makes me happy!
I also liked the quote by Hesiod, though I often wonder if it's true as so many war criminals live long lives, unless their caught, or maybe he means they have to live in the prison of their mind
It sort of ties in with the story where Quin brings like back to the source and hopefully Essri is resuscitated
Thanks for making us live our Tuesdays on the edge

    Yer killin' me!!! 🙀

A-hem… Well, I have at least two of your comparisons, Lamy and Pel, and oh, the Varsity….

PR inks are not at the top of my list, I prefer lubricated inks, and I am swearing off ALL new inks (except maybe InkVent, and if asked, I will deny!). And yet, I love your reviews. Even if it's an ink I don't want! Keep 'em coming, and please be merciful to our Dream Team.

Thanks, Liz, for making Tuesdays fun!

Gladly, thanks, and agreed - happy color, not the best implementation, unless you really want that cap-off-and-idle time.

Difficult to say. Certainly such people damage their own minds and souls. One must take a longer view when considering such things... I find that such quotes are better for considering my own behavior than for judging that of others...

Quin or Marsell, you could take your pick, either or both.

You'll love my next review - it's of an unobtainium ink! And frankly, if you have the comparison inks, no need to get this one, unless you're prone to losing track of your caps...

Very late to the party this week - it's been a challenging one here

Thank you as always @LizEF for an interesting review, which leaves me with no desire to obtain this ink! Thank you slightly less for prolonging the agony as we wait to discover the fate of our beloved little snek.

And apologies for such a brief response. I'm a little limited at the moment.

Sorry for the sequence of cliffhangers, but it's not my fault (mostly)...
