Not liking them doesn't mean you need to be rude. Not everyone shares your taste. It's not wrong to like different things. It is wrong to assume that other people are worse because they like different things.

I don't see the bigotry in displaying distaste for fake animal print, purse size dogs, rude tweets and oversized sunglasses. I merely evoked images of the type of STYLE and TASTE that would like these pens. I did not say "and therefore because they like things I don't they are lesser than me." Everything I said were questions of STYLE and decorum, there was no bigotry in what I said, your imagining that there was says much more about you than it does me.

Keep your notions off my words.

It's such a clean design, the fancy ornamentation lets it down. (Here speaks the High Modernist dinosaur). It reminds me strongly of the Tombow Object, only sleeker. If Pilot would offer the Metropolitan in the sort of finishes Tombow used, I'd probably buy one just for the aesthetics.

Goulet did a post on Ink Nouveueaueaue today so I thought I'd update everyone. The plain old ones will stay but the dot and zig-zag are on the way out.

Also, there are two new promo pics but I don't know if they help or hurt to be honest.

Is that something that's coming? They should do a writer's series...only so there's be such a series I could consider buying without having to get divorced

Not liking my little joke doesn't mean that you need to be rude.

I never said or implied that it was "wrong" to like these pens; I was merely expressing my own distaste for the new designs. If you like them, by all means, buy one and post about it. I'm not stopping you nor is anyone else. This forum actually allows and encourages multiple viewpoints.

I think we should design a new metropolitan collection and send it to pilot. Who's in?

I don't need Tie-fighters or Space Truckers or anything like that. I might buy this pen again if they came out with a nice burgundy or dark blue version. And of course nib options would be nice. Or a screw-on cap, but of course at that point we're talking about a new pen design, not a new design for this pen. I'm not sure that last sentence made sense to anyone but me.

I like the fact that they have colours besides black, gold and silver. Not entirely sold on the designs though. I guess they decided to go from serious and more business like to (their version of) whimsy? Who knows, there are people who like prints like those and maybe they're trying to appeal to that audience.

Is the lizard one the gold body with a different band, or is it a new body color? Kind of looks like a tan/khaki kinda thing to me.

I'm not saying mine are amazing but I think in 15 minutes I came up with some I'd rather buy. The pink one wouldn't be my choice but as some had mentioned a pink one I thought I'd throw one in.

I don't see any reason they couldn't do full pen prints. Here are some based off of some of the default patterns in Photoshop so nothing fancy but it shows the potential.
