In praise of the iPhone 15 pro
I normally would not use an iPhone to shoot "nice" pen photos, but I got a new iPhone 15 Pro at Christmas, and was fooling around with the camera, and IT'S PRETTY GOOD!
The close-up capability is amazingly good, it has excellent low-light range, and the auto-focus and image stabilization are also excellent. The resolution is as good as my Nikon D-850, and it even has a RAW 48 MP setting (though only for the "normal" lens)! I attach a simple hand-held picture, just room light, camera in one hand, pen in the other, no fussing. Came out not too bad.
Of course you do not have the option of small aperture and long exposure to get maximum depth of field like I like. But then (see other photo attached of my "usual" pen set up) it's a lot quicker and easier.

Wow. My English translation is “damn, it’s good.”
