Is The Pen Sac Company safe to deal with?
What have your experiences been in dealing with The Pen Sac Company? Their web site is rather primitive, but apparently David N. buys from them.
I was just about to sac a late 40's Sheaffer piston-filler, then discovered that it takes a #17 sac, of which I have none. The Pen Sac Company apparently manufactures and sells the the sacs and don't find anyone else who does. Their sac prices in general beat everyone else's, so I might just stock up on sacs in general.

There is at least one other thread on this topic, but to be very brief: the owner of the company, who makes the sacs and sells them, has had serious medical problems for many months. Only recently have some colleague and friends started to pick up the business end of things. Yes, it's an old-school operation, but when functioning, definitely not a scam or anything. However, I have no idea at what point it will be back to a somewhat smoothly running venture. The most current information can be found at FPN in this thread.

The pen Sac Company is alive and running. As indicated there are some technical difficulties due to medical issues that are being worked through. Rest assured sacs will continue to be available.

Their phone number is out of service, so I emailed them and will await a reply. I do wish the man well in his recovery.
