Default Biden, our longest-serving lame duck

Usually a lame-duck* president’s term runs from Election Day to the Inauguration Day for his successor.
    Joe’s term started yesterday.
Biden’s too weak to run a campaign. That weakness is projected internationally, to Russia and the Middle East.
Biden’s free to make decisions without personal or political consequences: pardoning Hunter et al.
A bad place for US to be.

There is one thing he is still competent to do........"10% for The Big Guy."

    Theories abound.
One is that Biden purposely announced in one doc, and endorsed in another so his withdrawal letter would be clean for posterity.
AND that the Harris endorsement was a stick-it-to-you to Obama and the party.

The title of this thread is historically wrong. Every two-term president since 1951 has been a "lame duck" for the entirety of their second term. Additionally, both Truman and LBJ withdrew from the race in March, in primary season. Not sure what "longest-serving lame duck" could be referring to here (except mostly as an inaccurate smear).

There's a man who knows his history of Dem withdrawals.
"The longest serving lame duck first-term President who withdrew after the completion of the primary season with cognitive deficits"
    That's better.

Unless we see some signs of life, I’m not sure that’s right either.

TS’post got me doing some digging.
You can find Truman’s filmed announcement of March 1952 on YouTube (no wonder I didn’t remember: before I was born)

You can see LBJ’s announcement of March 31, 1968 there too:

Why was Biden’s announcement made without any appearance at the time, since then, and without an appearance scheduled more than 24 hours later??

I appreciate the rhetorical nature of your question but I think there is a likely explanation.

Biden has a wicked temper. That is not conjecture or a politically based statement. It is a fact which has been well documented over the years. Credit to him that he has been able to control it while in public settings (much like Obama, a chain smoker, never did so in public)but restricted it to his non-public time with staff and other "behind closed doors" settings.

It's also a well known fact that he has been seething over the way he has been ousted and, especially about the way he feels betrayed by many he sees as beholden to him.

My "guess" is he is so livid and furious that neither he nor his staff want to take the chance that this monumental anger is witnessed by the public. The risk of its spilling out into the sunshine is that his whole house of cards, related to this great act of selfless patriotism, will come tumbling down and confirm something that everyone knows. He got the boot and is leaving kicking and screaming. The only unanswered question is what carrot, stick or combination of the two got him to relent?

Finally, don't think even for a minute that Dr. Jill Biden has been or is any help here. She is every bit as pissed off as he is.....She was counting upon being the queen bee for another four years and now has to return into the private sector, long before she is ready.

Not sure how endorsing Harris is stick-it-to-you to Obama and the party.

because he is recovering from covid? He said he'd address the nation later in the week. I don't see a big deal here.

For the sake of argument consider the following:
    Have you seen this report?
    https://news3lv.com/news/local/las-v...d-19-diagnosis

Which is folded into this post:
    https://www.dossier.today/p/exclusiv...biden-suffered

Which in turn morphs(?) into Biden having fallen, the implication being that he had a traumatic brain injury.

Folded into reports Biden has delegated specific tasks to the Secretaries of State and Treasury, implying a continuing absence.

Why would the President not make even a brief appearance to put the rumors and concerns to rest?

Why does Trump wear a bandage that covers his entire ear?

And now, back to Biden rumors:
“Got a weird lead on a story that people should look into. I got a call from a source close to Las Vegas Metro. The official story was that Joe Biden's trip was cut short last week due to COVID. However, according to this source, US Secret Service informed LV Metro that there was an emergency situation involving Joe Biden and to close necessary streets so that POTUS could be transported immediately to University Medical, which they began to do in earnest. Then, mysteriously, there was a stand down order and the USSS informed local Vegas PD that they were going to "medivac" POTUS to Johns Hopkins, which they presumed meant fly him back east ASAP. Apparently the rumor mill in the police department
was that Joe Biden was dying or possibly already dead. I didn't think too much about this lead, seemed too wild to be true, but given that Joe Biden has been out of public sight for days and dropped out of the race via an X post, and his brother James indicated health was a factor, l'm beginning to grow more curious if COVID or something else has been more serious than reported. If anyone with LV Metro has information, please email Freedom@CharlieKirk.com. / want to hear if
there is more to the official story than what they're telling us.
