Default Visconti vs Pineider travelling inkpots.

I have both, I like both, and frankly from a function standpoint they both work equally well for me. I do like that the Visconti fits in a slot in a pen case for travel, its super convenient and I have never had one leak on me. Having said that, considering it is three times the price of the Pineider, I cannot justify having several. And I kind of feel like it is really a 35$ piece of plastic rather than a $75 dollar piece of plastic. Anyone have any other thoughts?

I only have the Visconti - 2 of them - both for the very good use and the storage in a case as you mentioned.

I bought mine when a retailer had them on sale (different occasions) and had discount coupons as well. Still ended up being a lot of $$$ for the materials, but they work so well and (at least on my Visconti pens) are the closest thing to a no mess/no fuss refilling system I have come across.

I have several of the Visconti and use them a lot. I have one Pineider and its functions fine but it is less, well, elegant. The one advantage of the Pineider is that you can mount an ink sample vial on it in place of the normal bottom ink container. In this way you can use it for multiple ink colors with just a quick rinse of the top part.

I just happened to've read a heads-up review of these very two items recently at The Gentleman Stationer. Personally, I'm at the advantage of not needing either of these too-high priced (for me) tools - I'm a solid vial & syringe devotee.

I use the Pineider filler to fill my vacuum and piston fillers when there's not enough ink left to do it another way. Now that I know you can fit a sample vial onto it, the job will be that much easier! Thanks, @OCArt!
