New arrival: Montblanc 42 Grey striated

I bought this one off the bay yesterday and picked it up today. First the challenges. The clip has broken off. Also, while the piston moves up and down it will not suck up any ink so I believe a new cork is needed. Now the good stuff. The pen is in nice shape. The photos were blurry and so it was difficult to tell condition from the listing. I have dipped it and it writes beautifully. It has a fine 14 c nib that provides lots of flex. One more good thing...the pen cost 61.00 USD. Here are a few pictures of my Spanish made Montblanc 42.

I finally sent this pen off to be restored, it returned yesterday. A replacement clip in excellent condition was found. The nib was tuned and the cork replaced. The pen was also hand polished. Here are a few "after" photos.

I highly recommend buying used MBs. As long as you figure in the costs for restoration you can get a good deal.
