Default Getting very tired of the too many dysfunctions of this forum!

I think I'm gonna hafta leave this fouled up forum for a while! The unchecked spam here I can work around ok, but for way too many times the crazy setup here decides to sign me out and then ERASE the post I'd been working on for good minutes!
I don't need this frustrating crap!! I'm starting to believe if there's any moderators here at all their main job appears to be eliminating appropriate posts and supporters!

Sorry Skip but there are no moderators. I really don't know why the board is signing you out.

I think it's because I take my time to post stuff the way I want it to be, and the damn AI thing here get's impatient! I know I'm signed in to begin with because I couldn't even start posting anything if I wasn't...
But after I finish writing when I click on the submit-it button the idiot AI then tells me I'm not signed in and so cannot post anything until I sign in. (~Again??) However when I sign in again then everything I've previously written sometimes just disappears as if it never existed in the first place!
I think the only possible saving option here is for me to just copy everything every few lines as I write it so when it does erase my musings I'd just have to post them again in another new post. ~Which is one big pain inna butt!
I'm gonna look around for another FP forum for myself; ~one where I hope people's postings are respected and not just dumbly erased and rejected out-of-hand by what appears to be stupid out-of-control AI!

Sometimes if I leave the draft post to go elsewhere on the site when I return the draft is gone.
If you are able to edit, hit “Post Quick Reply” before you leave and edit when you return. [theoretical, as I have no rights to edit my posts]

If you're willing, I expect we can work through this.

This site has two login methods. One's "Remember Me" box appears to work while the other doesn't (at least, for some people).

If you are using your own device (either computer or mobile phone or tablet), then there is zero reason not to have the device "remember" you - it's not like you're putting your financial or other personal info in here (if your real date of birth is in here, or other real identifying information, go remove it!).

I used the login at the top-right corner of the page and checked the remember me box, and haven't had to log in to this site in years. (This is Firefox on a Windows 10 PC.)

Now, there are browser settings and actions that can log you out of a website which have nothing to do with the website. These include deleting cookies (either manually, or letting the browser do it when you close the browser) or deleting all history (again, either manually or letting the browser do it).

If you would like help looking for these settings, it would help us to know what browser you're using and whether it's on a computer or a mobile device.

Alternately, each time you come to the site, before you do anything else, log in via the form at the top right corner of the page and check the "Remember Me?" box located under the User Name and Password fields.

OK, looks like some good possible solutions here from friendly folks.
    ~So, thank you!
I'll have to remember to hit the 'remember me' button (I never did this inna past) as I open the forum, and see how that goes...
Also the site does allow me to edit (and load photos) forever so then maybe I should take advantage of that and hit 'post quick reply' very quickly (after only one or two opening lines?) and then take my time "editing..."
Sorry about the previous ~rant~ but I was so at losing my carefully designed post, my 'masterpiece'!
~I'll have to remember to take things (and myself!) less seriously here...

No need to apologize - we've all been there and it's really, really frustrating. For a while last month, reddit was just randomly reloading the page while I was in the middle of typing. Lost two long replies that way. (Seems to be fixed now, not that reddit itself can be fixed - I abandoned r/fountainpens recently, so reddit's constant software updates aren't so relevant to me anymore.)

On websites that exhibit quirky behavior at least occasionally, or any time I write an elaborate and time-consuming post to enter into a field, I'm made it a sort of personal rule (which I sometimes forget to apply when things go swimmingly for an extended period of time) to copy the text before hitting the post button. It'[s saved my bacon more than once.

    Yes, this is "best practice".

Agreed. I have a plain text editor for coding (Notepad++) and compose anything more than a quick reply in that app. I copy/paste when I'm done, but one of it's features is it always saves the current window, so not matter what happens in the browser (on FPG), the original is always sitting in a tab on the Notepad screen.

As to Skip and the mysterious mention of "AI"... The website doesn't have AI. If something named or imagined as AI is causing a problem, disable it to make certain THAT isn't where the problem is occurring. If it is a problem with your browser, it would affect many sites. Debugging issues is looking at discrete elements of the problem and eliminating them one by one.

and that when Truth and Error have fair Play, the former is always an overmatch for the latter."

I meant AI in a generic sense, not in the way it's defined as all that 'new' stuff today. I usta earn my living as a computer programmer many moons ago and AFAIC any program ("app" today) that's making inconsistent decisions to reject people's input (and nobody knows why or how to stop it?) is then operating amok with artificial (and mistaken) machine intelligence!
And anyway the 'new' AI is probably just like the old programs in that it's initially set up by human intelligence, and re this we programmers had a saying about computers and humans that went: "Garbage IN, ~garbage OUT!"

The "Remember me' function was covered in detail when Skip posted about the site losing his replies previously in an earlier post.

Perhaps it's the way security settings are set/operating on the selected browser but I currently use Safari and Chrome (and used to use Firefox and Windows.) When I select "Remember me" and sign in anywhere it only ever resets my apps/log-ins when I erase all of my history. If Skip has his browser set to "Erase history" on power off as a selectable feature then he will be signed out from everything all of the time and it will be necessary to sign in every time he switches on. Selecting "Remember Me" on sign-in will therefore need doing every day or every sign in. Checking out settings/security settings on the selected browser might need looking at first.
