    Here is the first prompt:

A sunrise marks new beginnings, hope, and endless possibilities. Let this week’s prompt be an opportunity to reflect on what a fresh start means to you and translate it into your art. Whether you’re working with ink, pencil, digital tools, or any other medium, we can’t wait to see how you bring this theme to life.

    Here’s how you can participate:

Create your art inspired by the prompt "Sunrise".
Share it on your social media or within the Inktober community using the hashtags #Inktober52 and #Sunrise.
Take a moment to engage with others’ work—celebrate the diversity of interpretations and connect with fellow creators.

Now I have Sunrise, sunset, from Fiddler on the roof in my head

Quick one for sunrise, co-opting actual morning sun on the page, and thinking perhaps of Oppenheimer, Men in Black or Miami Vice?

Had no intention of posting here, at least this week. The prompt "sunrise" didn't particularly inspire me. I've been driving myself slightly nuts trying to do an adequate version of this picture. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alla_N...va_in_1919.jpg

My latest effort is nowhere near what I'm aiming for. But although it was done with two pencils, it occurred to me that it sort of fit the sunrise prompt. So here it is.

By the way, I did use ink to date and initial it, but it was a fine tipped gel pen, not a fountain pen. Not meant to be heresy, it's just that I wasn't sure if writing over a big mess of smeared graphite might be bad for a fountain pen. And the paper is a little rough, too.

Here is another attempt at Sunrise.
I realized that normally dawn has pink splotches and not orange.

I should have done the original sketch in pencil, but I didn't... SO the animals are a bit haphazard.
I use a Hongdian M2 fountain pen with Kala Nostaliga Abstraction Moonlight Tide and diluted Jacques Herbin rue de la Verrière and Noodler's Eel Red Rattler's red.

It’s time to let your creativity dive into the depths of inspiration! Shrimp can be drawn in so many imaginative ways: from realistic renderings of their intricate anatomy to cartoonish characters full of personality. You could illustrate a shrimp chef whipping up a seafood feast, a futuristic shrimp piloting a tiny submarine, or even a shrimp ballroom dance with another ocean critter! But why stop there? Shrimp are just one small part of the vibrant, mysterious world beneath the waves. Use this prompt to celebrate the ocean’s diversity—schools of fish shimmering in unison, coral reefs brimming with color, jellyfish pulsing like ethereal lanterns, and whales singing their deep songs. Let shrimp be your starting point, but let your art honor the vast, wondrous marine world they call home! 🦐

    2. Further to the discussion over in the FPG art gallery thread, Pig and Wolf reflect on their (my) lack of ideas about shrimp.

@catbert, you mean you don't have the shrimps idea of what to do?

I finished another take on Sunrise:
There's a wise fox and an angry wolf and many cat & mouse character, but I refrained to add a pig, nor a shrimp, as it wouldn't be kosher

I think that Pig and Wolf's problem is that they are confused about whether "shrimp" means the marine organism or a diminutive individual.
