Question: Does one have to re-loosen their blind caps again after filling in order to do extended writing, like with some other vacuum fillers?

Question: Does one have to re-loosen their blind caps again after filling in order to do extended writing, like with some other vacuum fillers?
No, because they do not have the shut-off mechanism pens like the 823 and other copies have. In those, a rubber stopper blocks ink in the barrel from getting into the section, avoiding leaks in transport. Unscrewing the 'blind' cap a couple of turns backs the rod out, opening up the stopper and letting more ink flow into the section. "When Men differ in Opinion, both Sides ought equally to have the Advantage of being heard by the Publick;
and that when Truth and Error have fair Play, the former is always an overmatch for the latter."
