Default No Trump, you can’t have Greenland, Panama, or Canada

I sincerely hope there is more to the story and/or that CNN and others have it wrong. But IF they don’t and IF there isn’t more to the story, Trump is truly insane. He has talked about wanting to take control of Greenland and Panama and perhaps? Canada(I hope not). What is really alarming is that he has perhaps not ruled out using the military to do so.(I really hope I am wrong about that). I mean, this is what Putin and Hitler do, not America. This is insane! And it would be evil. IF Trump does order the military to take any or all of the above, I think that would be the time for the military to commit mutiny and refuse to obey such insane orders. This is why he should not have been elected.

Oh yeah, he also wants to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. Crazy.

Again I hope I am wrong about all or the above and/or there is more to the story.

What is someone to respond to if you provide no specifics?
Mentioning of “CNN and others” combines an unreliable source on one hand and anonymous claims on the other.

I was assuming that everyone watches the news and has hear the claims that Trump wants Greenland and Panama. Also if you read my post carefully I do leave room for the possibility that the claims could be wrong or that there is more to the story.

“ Trump wants Greenland and Panama.”
    Sounds pretty neutral.
Isn’t there some treaty language or something with Panama?
Something about buying Greenland. Kinda like the Louisiana Purchase? Or the Gadsden Purchase? I’ve heard of them: weren't those good things?

And Alaska. We bought Alaska. From Russia. That seems to have turned out well, yes?

This is the problem with you assholes...both young & old.
You conjure up bullshit in your heads, stew on it for five minutes and then spew it out like a vile poison.

Where, anywhere, other than in your TDS consumed head(s) have you acquired valid information that conveys Trump has "not ruled out using the military" to acquire Canada, Greenland or Panama?
Name ONE place, site or source!
    You can't........

There is language in a treaty that allows us to take possession of Panama whenever we want? I didn't know that. As for buying Greenland, Is for sale by the owners? If not, we can't do that. Even so why would we want to buy it? It would probably cost a lot. Finally, it seems Trump hasn't ruled out the military. You don't use the military to purchase something.

Russia was willing to sell. Is Panama or Greenland willing to sell? Just because something is available to buy, doesn't mean it is a good idea to buy it.

CNN is where I heard that Trump has not ruled out military force. Please remember I said that I could be wrong and/or that there could be more to the story.

Yes, you are correct. You did hear it on CNN. BUT please read THEIR story which is directly under that ridiculously misleading headline.
    From CNN:
    6 hr 32 min ago
Trump, who vowed to stop wars, doesn't rule out using military to wrest control of Panama Canal and Greenland
    From CNN's Michael Williams
"President-elect Donald Trump did not rule out using the military to wrest control of the Panama Canal and Greenland during remarks to the press on Tuesday.

Asked directly whether he would rule out using “military or economic coercion” to see through his goal of gaining those territories, the president-elect responded, “no.”

“No, I can’t assure you on either of those two, but I can say this, we need them for economic security,” he said.

His apparent openness to using the military to achieve those goals comes despite his promises to avoid wars once he is sworn in.

“I’m not going to start a war,” Trump said during his victory speech after winning the 2024 election. “I’m going to stop wars.”

Since his election, Trump has repeatedly raised his interest in acquiring both the Panama Canal and Greenland. His remarks on Tuesday were the first time he has suggested using the military to do so.

Asked later whether he would also use the military against Canada, which he has also floated the US acquiring, Trump replied: “No, economic force.”

As you can see, CNN has once again done nothing but provide complete misinformation which morons like you take as gospel.

    yeah, seriously

It is only *your* consistent spewing of vitriol and personal attacks that ever makes me give a crap about anything you post (you rarely do anything else), and typically only when you are so obviously wrong. You called him an "asshole" and said he was conjuring "bullshit," when all he was doing was summarizing EXACTLY CORRECTLY what Trump said in response to the question.

Like I said to dneal (interesting parallel), why don't *you* cut the shit with warbler and treat him respectfully, the way this polite poster deserves. I couldn't care less what you say about me, but at least have the decency and maturity to treat someone else properly who is just expressing an opinion about Trump's public statements as reported in the press.

    And summarizing them correctly.

Now fuck off and go clean off your face.

Sometimes he does, but it’s usually preceded by “f*ck off”.

Hang on a minute, TSherbs has said that too! Warbler also can rarely remember what was previously posted in a thread, and has a rabid dislike for Trump.

Must be a pseudonym TSherbs is hiding behind.

I am not sure how what you said shows any misinformation on the part of CNN, other than perhaps the Canada thing.

btw, at one point while I was watching CNN, they showed a clip of the news conference where the conversation took place. If you ask me, it looks like Trump is contradicting himself when he says "I'm not going to start a war" and yet refuses to rule out military force with Panama and Greenland.
