Swan Visofil V211 - Nib dripping
Happy New Year folks!!!
I've got this Visofill that always has a drop of ink after the breather hole. I dry it up and it immediately reappers. Sometimes it also saturates the feed and drops a blob of ink on the page. Is it fixable?
Thank you

Re: Swan Visofil V211 - Nib dripping
Suspect a failing sac that allows air to enter. There's a nice description with photos and a patent schematic on Jim Mamoulides's Pen Gallery (giving credit to Laurence Oldfield) here: https://www.penhero.com/PenGallery/M...ddVisofilV.htm and https://www.penhero.com/PenGallery/M...ofilSystem.htm
Laurence Oldfield and Jim Marshall write in their Pen Repair 4th Edition that "the transparent chamber is a frequent source of problems as it is often laced with fine cracks, crystallized and friable," so that might be another source of air ingress. The book's repair descriptions and warnings at pp. 156-157 will be invaluable if a Visofil V needing repair ever lands on my desk.
You might want to shoot a PM to Deb or Robalone, both Mabie Todd specialists.

yes, I know it is a troublesome pen model, given the age. I don't know if Deb is still active or able to chip in anymore.
I'm patient :-)
The pen works, but the dripping is annoying.
But thank you for you suggestions.
