PLATINUM 3776 CENTURY not flowing

Hello guys and girls!

I've decided to give myself a little gift and purchased a fancy pen. But I have some issues

I installed the cartridge as usual and waited about 10 minutes for the ink to flow but the pen is still not writing. I've tried to dip the nib itself in a little splotch of ink that was on the tip of the cartridge to "get it going" but that helped....for a few words. I wrote down down "The qui.......". Did I do something wrong or is this a production issue?
