Bexley BX802 - Cracked Ice.

It came in last week and no chance to ink it yet. I have 6 pens inked right now and I want to use one up before I ink this one. I took advantage of an eBay deal. $53 and some change. I know it is being discontinued, or at least I suspect it is. I purchased it with the broad nib with hopes to stub it. The acrylic has a nice depth to it and a pearl-like sheen to the "ice" chunks.

On this photo you can see the pearl like sheen on one of the "ice" chunks just right of the middle of the barrel.

Congratulations, Ivan! This looks like a very nice pen and a great catch. Seems hefty too. I'd love to hear how it writes once you've stubbed it.

Seriously, $53? Looks like you got a deal on that one! I have a feeling that broad nib will make a nice stub. Show us a writing sample when you can, yes?

I just inked it up with some Private Reserve DC Supershow Blue. Very smooth nib and it flows very freely. I am off for a few days and I wanted to bring it with me. I'll see if I get a chance to post some pics while visiting my brother. No guarantees but definitely when I get back. I also want to get a spare B nib in case I mess it up. :P

KI, Gorgeous Pen and great photos as usual.
Wow that is a good deal considering that other site had them for about five times the price.
Private Reserve DC Supershow Blue is a nice colour but I still think you should fill up with a blue-grey

Thanks Bogon. I don't have a blue-grey, I think.

I have not had a chance to do anything with the pen but I did order an extra bold nib. It should be waiting for me at work but I have not been back since I got back from my trip. I did take a quick snap of a writing sample with the stock nib and thought I would post it for documentation purposes.

First pass on the honing stone. The variation is a little more apparent now. I still need to do a few more passes. I have the basic shape something like a rounded of rectangle right now with the roundness being on the right and left of the nib.

Here is the third pass with the honing stone. I decided to drop using the lube fluid since it seemed to make slow work of the nib. Works much faster now and the varition is readily apparent now.

I just went on ebay and the seller is still offering this deal. I bought one and await its delivery anxiously.
