Congrats on your new pens! I usually fill empty cartridge or converter with a syringe so that I don't make a big mess :-) Plus Pilot cartridge holds more ink than the converter.

I decided to post a photo of how it all began.
Nice photo.

Just a quick update. I've added a Pelikan M600 to my small collection of 3 at this point. The Prera and VP are still great writing instruments and I enjoy writing with them. They serve my needs at this time.
I will add a pen here or there just to try and possibly keep. I'm looking very forward to the pen show in Los Angeles in February where I can try some before buying.

Are those Damascus steel? Not that I'm familiar but I've seen an FP with a Damascus style overlay
Yes, in Jos' photo #s 2, 4, 6, and 8 are all damascus blades.
Lisa, just start writing.
That's what it's all about.
The sensual pleasure of finding a certain pen that flows with your hand and mind putting your thoughts on a sheet of paper.
Never mind whether it is a $30 or $500 pen, find what you feel suits you better, and that'll be the starting point.
This is a never ending quest: the perfect pen
Cheers from Buenos Aires

Hello hamag,
Thank you for the welcome. I have begun writing with a couple of pens that I like a lot and the joy of journaling has returned.
Welcome Lisa!!
