Michael your finished work looks great and seeing you take time to show us photographs of it during the stages of being built is informative. Thank you.

A member of another forum was asking if anyone had seen a pen case with a built in clip, I thought about it for a few days and as I had never seen one I decided to have a go

    IMG_9471 by my0771, on Flickr

    IMG_9474 by my0771, on Flickr

I just made it to see if it could be done the clip is a stainless steel money clip fixing it in place was a little tricky but I got there in the end.

I also have a special case to share with you it should have been delivered today but the recent weather conditions may have delayed it a little but I am going to share it anyway

I have no plans to make anymore of this colour it is a one off so I hope it has not been lost in the post

It is in the Nakaya style although it does not have a thong to hold the top and bottom together as it is a friction fit.

The recipient is a member here so I hope to see a picture with pen when it arrives (fingers crossed)

    Thanks for looking

    Michael

Well, I came home to a surprise today. Michael sent me the beautiful pink case for my pen.

I'm going to post pics. As usual Michael's work is outstanding. The man is gifted.....I'm baffled how he knew I would love this pink color. The case matches my pink handbag, watch and new shirt.

Truly folks, you want a customized leather pen case, Michael is the man. My orange one I got from Michael last year has gone everywhere with me and has safely protected my pen from thrashings.

Thank you, Michael. You have a good heart.

I was looking through the pictures of cases that I have made and realised that I had not made an uncoloured case so I have made one

    IMG_9485 by my0771, on Flickr

Unfortunately I am still having problems sewing after my fall in November it is not as straight as I would like and it took me three days doing a little every few hours but I got there in the end.

Michael, I will be posting pics. Long story short after traveling home and not sleeping for 36 hours....I came home to a very sick hound. He had emergency surgery on Friday. Life is a bit overwhelming, but I found some time today to pay back your kindness. I made a donation to your doggie society in your name. I figured it was the best way to say thank you.

Thanks for the healing thoughts. He's on the mend. Had bladder stones removed, so his poor belly is covered in stitches. The little guy is uncomfortable.....I was I could bear his pain. But he did growl at my mom....he's getting back to his normal behavior.

Thanks Sam I am very sorry to hear that one of your dogs has had to have such major surgery although I am happy to hear that normal behaviour has resumed.
Thanks for making the donation it is very kind of you times are hard for dog rescue in the UK.
I hope that you can get some rest before returning to work.
    Thanks again

Since making these two pen cases I have been thinking about a new case along similar lines

    IMG_9398 by my0771, on Flickr

    IMG_9474 by my0771, on Flickr

I am thinking of two pieces of thick leather but full length of the pen maybe with a flap or some type of fastener I would love to hear any ideas,
It may be a few days before I start a prototype I have had some treatment on my right hand today so it is a little sore.

it seems like some time since I made a single pen case.

I have altered the shape of the front of this form this is the first case from this form.

    IMG_9575 by my0771, on Flickr

I shaped a piece of kydex to the form by heating an pushing it into place the next step was to soak a piece of veg tan leather and shape it to the form over the top of the kydex

    IMG_9574 by my0771, on Flickr

To get the correct shape for the back section I used the previous case as a template

    IMG_9578 by my0771, on Flickr

I cut the shape of the end using a coin as a template and a very sharp knife

    IMG_9581 by my0771, on Flickr

    Thanks for looking

Once all of the components are cut and shaped it is time to add the dye which in this case was blue

    IMG_9583 by my0771, on Flickr

After the dye comes the suede interior and then the whole thing is glued and stitched together for this case it took 4 1/2 hours to sew but I am very slow

    IMG_9585 by my0771, on Flickr

This blue is very light so I may add a few more coats to darken it a little

    Thanks for looking

I have now, thanks I love to see my cases in use I don't normally read the Visconti thread too tempting especially the Homo sapiens 😊
I would be interested to see how it stands up to everyday use.
