    Hi Wuddus
Thanks for taking the time to comment and share your ideas it is very much appreciated.
I had neglected to mention that the little wooden toggle that closes the case is also a pen rest I did not take any pictures of this one in fact I had to go back some time to find a picture.

Using the toggle as a pen rest is ingenious!

It has been a little while since I shared anything here life has a way of taking over at times.
My current pen case is for three Emperor size pens.
The inside liner is made from Kydex for strength which is wrapped in suede.

Once all three pen tubes are wrapped in suede I started thinking about the outer cover. This is made from 3 mm veg tanned leather which is wet formed in a wooden mould.
This picture shows the piece of leather in the mould as I started to apply pressure from the clamps.

Here you can see the leather has been forced into the shape of the mould.

After drying for a few hours I removed the front from the mould.

When I was happy that everything fitted together I applied the dye. I allowed the flap to dry in its closed position to prevent cracking and graining when opened and closed.

This is a dry fit of all of the pieces

    Stitching in progress

Once the closing strap was in place I stopped stitching and started working on the flap template.

Using my circle tool I rounded the corners this is where I am at this time I am thinking that the point where the shape starts needs to be closer to the inside of the case.
