I received this in my order from isellpens. It was a mistake. I had not ordered it but Todd is making right and he let me keep this one. The first time I saw the nib I thought it had been damaged. I have not inked it up yet.

I played a bit with a pen nibbed kinda like that at the Baltimore pen show. I think it was even more drastic than that one. The pen worked really well but man, was it weird. enjoy that one.

I have a Sailor calligraphy pen with a similar upturned nib. I couldn't use it for writing and it was a gift from a friend (ie. I didn't want to sell it) so I straightened the nib and reground it to a cursive italic. Now it's one of my best writers

That is a very pleasing looking pen and I'm sure the colour would appeal to a coffee aficionado. However the up-turned nib is disturbing to look at.
Have you inked it up and tried it yet ?

I specialize in collecting and using pens with this kind of nib. Oh, the humanity!

The GLM example is a bit scratchy and unyielding of its kind, but at the price, still an interesting addition to my 'fude-mania.'

Upside-down, these pens write a hairline. Right-side up, you get every variation of line width, from extra fine to triple-b, depending on how low the angle of the nib is to the paper.

My Sheaffer has a bit of an upturned nose too. the nib is very stiff and writes a fine line. I use it to write checks. The carbon copies read fine. No calligraphy with this pen. All the calligraphy pens I ever used were very scratchy. Might have been the paper though. I'd like to try some in the future.

I have been busy as of late and have not had a chance to ink it. I am also going to need some tips on how to actually use it.

Try it held upside-down first and see what a hairline it produces. Then just try writing a few lines holding it as you would normally hold a fountain pen.

Try holding it at a lower angle, too.

These pens are made not only to write Chinese characters, but also for sketch artists to use because of the expressive qualities of the nib. You'll find yourself quickly getting used to it.

Don't mind my down and dirty writing. I am still trying to get a hang of this thing. A little bit of a hard start then it just gushed! If flex nibs take practice, I don't know what you need for these nibs. I get the feeling it would work better if I hold it like the calligraphy brushes instead of the traditional tripod grip.
