According to the Admin the FPN is automatically shut down if it gets too much traffic. Not because they are "sorting things out" as you pointed. And I doubt they ever will. Their forum has become so big it is very difficult to keep an overwiev of all things happening, good and bad.

I see this a lot in other forums that I visit for my other hobbies, there is always one big forum with huge membership that are run without concern to the membership, (like it or go away) attitude and then a few smaller more well behaved forums that spring up afterwards and normally started by ex members of the big forum.

Some are just too big for their own good, although that can apply to most successful things these days.
