The weather out side is frightful....

Up here in Vermont we are looking at some serious icing up outside over the next two days.
My question is if you were iced in for a few days, what pens, inks and paper would you be
using to pass the time and what would you be doing with them?

I will be working on Sketches for the book and scroll project... using various noodler's inks and experimenting with
some water color blending for back ground. I have some Reves and Strathmore papers for the sketches. I'll use my
Jihao 149s for some of the drawings and experiment with some new flex-ish nib pens... I'll also be writing my end of the year
Solstice greetiings to mail out once the ice stops coating everything....

Yep, we're getting iced over as well. If I were fortunate enough to be able to stay home, I'd get some more letters out to pen pals and do some experimenting with some new sealing wax, and choose an ink for my Levenger....

So-- happy winter solstice: after this we get approximately two more minutes of daylight per day until summer solstice. Here in Michigan, that is a good thing!

Just to make our fellow members in North America feel a little warmer, we copped a 41°C (105.8°F) day last Thursday ...

Yep, 38 degrees celcius coming up in Sydney in about 10 hours. Actual outdoor temperature under direct sunlight will rival many sauna settings except we've got extreme UV rating.

I live in central WI, so I get your weather three days before you do. It's 19F outside right now, and I got eight inches of snow last night too.

If the weather is bad, it's bathtime for all the pens I have inked up. Any faulty ones in the current rotation get fixed.

After that, I restore any pens I bought lately that need it, and research some new inks.

I would much rather have colder weather when I'm writing letters. Writing in hot weather with perspiration running down you arm isn't pleasant as it often stains the writing paper. I very much enjoy a cold wintry day spent cleaning, flushing, polishing and tuning my batch of pens. But I'll have to wait a few months for the next one, however.

Didn't use any pens today :gasp: Busy with other weather-related activities such as shoveling and playing in snow with my son. Today's high was 18F (-7.8C).

We have had some snow here, but it's in the 50s now, and raining heavily. My journal writing never stops. There is also a story that I was working on, but it seems to have hit a snag. Luckily there is no intention of every publishing it.
