inside the USPS
Knowing that you love mail as much as I do, I figure some of you will find this article of interest. It was published in Esquire back in February. The author, Jesse Lichtenstein, spent a year reporting this story about the USPS. It begins:
"The postal service is not a federal agency. It does not cost taxpayers a dollar. It loses money only because Congress mandates that it do so. What it is is a miracle of high technology and human touch. It's what binds us together as a country."
