Moon (2009). Directed by Duncan Jones (David Bowie's son), stars Sam Rockwell and Kevin Spacey. Kind of slow starting, then it picked up and was saved by the last third. I give it 3 out of 5 stars.
eta: The Thin Man (1934), William Powell, Myrna Loy. I always watch this when it's on.

Not been well over the past couple of weeks, so, have watched a goodly number of films on DVD. Amongst them were...
True Grit - The Coen brothers 2010 Western remake, featuring Jeff Bridges and Hailee Steinfeld, which I really enjoyed.
Valerie and her week of wonders - Czech film, already mentioned by 85AK. Thought it was great, and will probably explore more of Second Run's catalogue.
Badlands - Terrence Malick's 1973 'classic', starring Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek.
Seven Psychopaths - Dark humour, and strong language from Martin McDonagh...though you would know what to expect if you've seen "In Bruges". Liked the fact that the film features Woody Harrelson as one of the psychopaths. I thought his playing of Mickey Knox, in "Natural Born Killers", was one of the best psychopath characters, ever. Also stars...Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell, and the wonderful Christopher Walken.
The place beyond the pines - Another recommendation from this thread, and another worthwhile movie.

Nice list. I've seen and loved all of them except for Seven Psychopaths and In Bruges (added to my list - thanks Malcolm). Only one on the big screen - The Coen Brothers' True Grit - twice. There are a handful of directors who I'll see at the theater to catch their new movies, a short list:
Jeff Nichols
Wes Anderson
Paul Thomas Anderson

Rewatched Animal Kingdom (2010). Just a great story, beginning to end. Ben Mendelsohn (The Place Beyond the Pines - another great story), Guy Pierce. You'll probably recognize Joel Edgerton (Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, Smokin' Aces, Zero Dark Thirty). Sullivan Stapleton (The Hunter (2011)).
Watched Superbad on DVD. Barely tolerable opening, sweet ending.
From Thomas Vinterberg who also directed "The Hunt". This one makes "The Hunt" seem like a happy film.
EDIT - Since the image went on vacation - Submarino.

The Company of Wolves (1984), directed by Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles, Michael Collins, The Brave One). British horror film. Stars Angela Landsbury. Dreams within dreams. Stories within dreams. No totems. Excellent.
I love that film but hard to watch in parts (I don't want to give anything away). It also helps to see the interview with Carlos Reygadas (on the Brit DVD) which explains many aspects of the film. Perhaps you should see "Silent Light" before attempting this one. "Battle In Heaven" is more linear but a bit more 'adult'.
I saw the Lego movie last weekend and it was a lot of fun.
Write buzzed. Edit sober.
Prisoners (2013). 4 out of 5 stars.
The Hasty Heart(1949). Only the 2nd time I've sen it,but still a great film.

My five year old HTPC died last month. I was going to replace it but decided to go with a Roku 3 instead. Liking it so far. Watched Space Balls. Yeah, it's still corny. Red Dawn, the remake version. It was okay but I could have had a bit more story development. Jack Reacher, good action flick that was predictable.
