Default TWSBI 580 and Kon-Peki First Thoughts

There are many detailed, technical, and better written reviews of both items on this site and elsewhere, so I just wanted to share some quick thoughts.

I just received my first TWSBI and I'm pleased to say that I'm enjoying it.

Prior to its first use, it was given a thorough flush and then inked with Iroshizuku Kon-Peki.

The pen: It is a very smooth writer on Clairfontaine (Rhodia) and Leuchtterm papers. On a standard Mead spiral bound graph paper notebook, there was a little friction - as expected - but nothing unpleasant. It is my first demonstrator and I enjoy seeing all of the parts that make it a pen. I have a medium nib and find it to be the equivalent of other mediums that I have. Is anyone aware if this pen comes with additional o-rings? I received the wrench and silicone oil, but no rings.

The ink: Kon-Peki is the first bottle of Iroshizuku ink in my collection. It is lighter than I would have liked, but it has grown on me. It dries fairly quickly. On Rhodia pads, there is no bleed through. With Leuchtterm and "normal" notepad paper, I could not see myself writing on both sides.

    Cheers

The TWSBI Diamond 580 does not come with extra seals the Vac 700 does.
