    Default Yolkfish

I can see I must have one of these for the kitchen.
    They also have Kitchen Elephants

Why on earth would one want to remove a perfectly good egg yolk?

    The elephant is pretty nifty.

Plenty of things require just yolks or whites or even say two eggs and a yolk.

Nah. Generally I just wing it. If I'm really uncertain about a recipe, I'll compare 2 or 3 of my cookbooks, maybe look through cooks.com or recipesource.com, and then improvise.

Cookbook? I'm still getting acclimated to the concept of measuring cups.

I was actually shown how to separate the white and yellow using the shell though I never mastered doing it with one hand.

As for why...think Angelfood cake and properly formatted omelettes as a start.

Neat but I hate washing plastic.

I also don't understand the elephant. Wouldn't the water pool near the feet?

Not if the elephant's trunk is hanging over the edge of your sink. I like the idea, but in our family we use enough utensils that we'd need a much larger elephant.

I never get egg separation devices. Separating eggs is easy! Either using its own shell or using your fingers. I just don't get it, Grandma showed me as a kid and even then I could do it easily.

The Yolkfish is cute but totally unnecessary 😜
I bet the elephant's inside 'cup' doesn't include his feet, so water is directed to the trunk/drain.

You know it! Plus, it makes you seem like Julia Child, Jacques Pepin, and John Besh all rolled into one.

I think it must be a knack you (certainly not me) are born with.

I love kitchen gadgets but bench and storage space is at a premium in the Bogon Kitchen.

I prefer using the eggshells to my fingers, because, egg white, ick.

The yolkfish looks like it would be a complete pain in the ass to clean. Yucky fish.

Don't you absolutely hate trying to fish little bits of shell out of the egg white when you crack eggs.

Use the rest of the shell to fish them out, they will scoop right up/stick to the shell!

Thanks, I will and remember that when the pressure is on.
It is so frustrating using a spoon, knife or fork to do it.

Maybe if there was a Baystate Blue fish that separates the stains from your pen, I would be interested.
