Did she have congestive heart failure?

I know you are heartbroken, but just focus on the happy life you were able to give her. There are so many animals out there suffering due to the neglect, exploitation, and indifference of humans. She was one of the lucky ones, to have had a good home, to have been loved. Thatís what matters.

It seems she ruptured a heartstring (which I didn't know is a real thing). We were hoping to get her to CHF, which can be managed, at least for a while - what I wouldn't give for a few more months, or even weeks, with my sweet girl.

When we recovered from the death of Ruby, our companion of fifteen years, we started hitting the shelters.

This guy appealed to us, although we've never had a hound-type dog before.

He's a Catahoula Cur, the Louisiana state dog. Some, called Leopard Dogs, have a spotty coat and glass eyes. He has a bit of white in one eye. He's very smart and athletic. Well-behaved in the house. Great watchdog. Copper's the name.
