Could you give us a sense of the size of the barrel? In the picture where it is capped, it looks like the barrel is fairly big and stubby, but in the picture where the cap is posted, it looks long and rather thin.

It is not very long when capped, iŽll take a pic at it tomorrow alongside another pen.
A couple of quick shots of the MB simplo 4 alongside a MB 144 from the fifties.

What a lovely pen. I have always wanted a MB safety. I have been looking for one for a while. Thanks for the photos.
Thank you Orfew, yes it is a nice little pen, but not too small to use.
What a great pen that its. Classic and deceptively simple-looking.
Does the nib offer much line variation? Writing sample, please.
The nib is very soft and flexible.

Just marvelous!
Thanks, now I have ANOTHER expensive old MB on my wishlist.

Current pen rotation: way too many!

They donŽt have to be expensive, i find many pens at fleamarkets, local adds and suchlike.
I think your location helps with that. Here in the US I'll see lower end American pens at such places, but finding a Montblanc would be like finding a diamond!

Yes, i think denmark is a good MB place (they even made them at some time).
