Default The Hackmo Pen (cheap vintage flex)

    SOLD!!!

    Shipped CONUS.

Ok, First things first. This has a crack in the nib. Bummer. It is at the back of the breather hole and heads back towards the rear of the nib. At least it isn't headed for a tine. It's been cleaned by hand and writes a nice wet medium flex line. The tines are a little vague feeling, probably from the crack, but it writes nicely. Just eyeballing this it appears to be a #2 Warranted 14k nib. The pen is marked "The Hackmo Pen". The cap is marked Pat Oct 9 1909. The chasing is still visible, the imprints are deep, and the color is still black. I don't think this pen saw much use, except for that darn crack in the nib. The feed has the largest channel I have ever seen! LOL. I think It doubled as a hog trough back in the day hahahaha. I wrote two whole pages with it just to make sure that weirdo feed wasn't going to do something silly like puke ink everywhere, but it wrote very nicely. The nib tines don't quite touch so you get a hard start once in a while, but with that crack there I wan't going to start bending the tines to try to get rid of an occasional hard start.

Geez, 00, I swear: you could make a 24-penny nail, pounded through a 2x4 and inked up with Mercurochrome look a million bucks! Best of luck on the sale...

    HAHHAHA Thanks Jon!

I'll take an offer if anyone has one. I noticed I don't get any offers here. On another forum, a watch forum, people will happily offer you a shiny nickel and the honor of having them take a dump in your front yard. People here are really are too civilized compared to other forums I frequent.

The ink is Diamine Ancient Copper. The camera gear in these shots is a Canon 40D with a 100mm f/2.8L macro lens, a 24mm-70mm f/2.8L lens, two off camera flashes with a remote IR trigger on the camera.

I adore ancient copper! Love that ink.

I'd offer $25 for it, seems like a fun pen to carry everywhere and play with, I'm afraid the nib may not be long for this world?

Send it to Greg Minuskin--he can fix the crack in the nib.
