Sheaffer Triumph Vac nib replacement

I have a Sheaffer Triumph Vac that I was going to restore. The nib was cracked on the back where it was the thinnest. I bought a donor pen with what I thought was the same nib to use as a replacement. But the new nib is a screw on nib and the broken nib was just crimped onto the section.

So my question is can this screw on nib be made to fit or have I wasted my money?

I just started playing with the triumph nibs so I can't help you. But hopefully this bump will encourage somebody to chime in.
