    Default Hello from DFW

Hello from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I am new to fountain pens. I just ordered my first one and am expecting to arrive any day now. It's an inexpensive Pilot Metropolitan. I guess technically it won't be my first, I've been using a pilot varsity for a little bit just to get a feel for fountain pens. I have to say it is a joy to write with a fountain pen. So I'll be lurking in the forums trying to learn as much as I can to see where this new interest will lead.

Welcome home. Pull up a stump and set a spell. There is a pretty active FP group up there that meet fairly regularly and also a fair size show once a year.

Pilot Varsity was my first FP purchase as well. The Metropolitan is a great second step. It eventaully (frequently) leads to a great big pile of pens, but it is fun gettnig there.

Its a bit of a slippery slope after the Pilot Metropolitan. Its still one of my favorite pens of all time though. Not going to lie about that.

Welcome--that Metropolitan is a "Top Ten" for first pen around here. Enjoy!
