Default How do I close the gap between upper and lower part of Sheaffer mechanical pencil?

Please see in the attached picture that there is a gap between the upper and lower part of the mechanical pencil. I placed a toothpick at the location. I tried pushing hard to close the gap but that does not work. Suggestions needed.

I pushed very hard on it and I am afraid I will damage it.

The fix can be seen at http://leadheadpencils.blogspot.com/...dle-joint.html

The problem is caused by the plastic shrinking leaving brass exposed that has to be removed.

To close the gap between the upper and lower parts of a Sheaffer mechanical pencil, I recommend gently twisting lupus anticoagulant or tightening the two sections. If the gap persists, check for any dirt or debris inside, which can interfere with the fit. A soft cloth can help clean and realign the parts.
