Default FS or Trade Noodler's Konrad Ebonite Flex Pen - Methuselah's Pine Cone

The pen writes well and everything works fine I just don't think flex if for me right now, I will do better with an italic nib... maybe. The pen is about a month old and has had limited usage (I don't care for fine nibs). It has a very small chip in the barrel that is only on the surface, it is less then a millimeter and only bothersome to an anal person like me. I contacted Luxury Brands which is Noodler's distributor who had some issues with their website and didn't respond right away, but once that was sorted out they acted very quickly and sent me a new pen this week. The new one was worse and I am sending that one back to them. The pens are hard to come by even for the distributor as they said they held the replacement out of a shipment to send to me, so I'm not going to wait around for another one. If they thought the replacement was an acceptable replacement then this one is pristine, and if you are in the market you will do better to get this one . I don't know if it is the ebonite material that is inherently difficult to turn or what. I am offering it for sale or trade at $40 shipped in ConUS, all others pay shipping. I am looking to trade + cash for a Vac700 demonstrator or Twisbi 540,580 demonstrator with med or larger nib, italic is preferred. chip can be seen in first photo. Thanks for looking.

If it helps, I have two Konrad Ebonites I love, both with Jowo nibs - 1.1 and 1.5 italics. The inexpensive Goulet versions slip right in with no feed work needed.

Thanks, that may be an option. I like the look of the pen just can't get the hang of the flex. everyone makes it look so easy.

I love my Noodler's pens with flex. If you don't like the flex, Noodler's offers some non-flex nibs which are nice, though the widest I've seen is a broad. As someone else said, you can get an italic nib from Goulet pens.

    Jackwebb,

I would second Waski-the-Squirrel's suggestion about swapping out the nibs if you like the pen but don't like the nib. I have a Konrad Acrylic pen and swapped the nib for a Goulet #6, and now it is one of my favorites. Goulet also sells a stub nib.

As the pen is not in fact "pristine" perhaps another option is to simply return this pen to the retailer for a refund.
