Default Has Sheaffer discontinued all Converters?

I can remember checking a few months ago writing desk, amazon, Ebay, Pen heaven, Cult Pens and a few other retailers across the pond and non had new piston converters in stock. I did ask a few of the independent retailers who said they weren't discounted but were back order but nothing has changed a few months later. surely stock should have been replenished by now,

It would seem silly as they still seem to sell a limited range of fountain pens but might converters be a low margins product. I would much rather pay more then not have the option. if they are no longer made. What's next bottled ink goes as well?

I don't know whether or not Sheaffer still makes converters. At present, several Sheaffer converters are available on eBay and can be found by searching there for "sheaffer fountain pen converter". This one fits the Sheaffer Prelude that I purchased in 2003: https://www.ebay.com/itm/35109129469...4AAOSwj0NUj1Rz

I understand that the converter I linked to is no longer manufactured, having been replaced by a model with less ink capacity.

Teri at Peyton Street Pens has the squeeze converter in both regular and slim size. I haven’t seen the newer kind, but I wasn’t looking. I’ll post a link if I come across one of those.

Sadly ebay buyers in the UK would be charged $24 more to get that one here because of ebay's Global Shipping Program. Not many would pay that.

Here is a Sheaffer piston converter that will fit their Targa pens. At £17.95 it's not cheap but at least it is available in the UK and that's currently the lowest price for one on ebay UK.

Perhaps the company is also changing over production of their converters from Slovenia to China so that could be causing the slight delay in getting some here?

I've never tried a different manufacturer's converter in a Sheaffer pen but maybe someone else has.

I noticed today that Sheaffer's web site lists one converter, but it is sold out. They do offer a few pens for sale with converters included.

My piston converter order with Sheaffer got cancelled when they announced the sale of the company. I wonder if we will ever see piston converters available again. We do have a good stock of the squeeze converters ....

Are the squeeze converters with the PVC sacs available? Those had a red plastic tip.

I don't think squeeze converters have been manufactured for a long time. I was kinda thrilled when I recently bought a 1990s era Sheaffer pen and it had a red end converter in it!

I tried to buy a couple of new Sheaffer piston converters from new pen dealers during the last two months...in vain. Will we see increasing prices paid for cheaper Sheaffer pens, just to harvest their converters?

I've seen some that are reasonably priced on ebay UK. There was a twist action version that I mentioned in another post about Sheaffer converters and a squeezy Classic version. The type I usually buy so that I can replace the sac.
They weren't particularly expensive and ebay may be the place to look for them at the moment.

They are always a great pleasure to find. When I repair Sheaffer converters I have sometimes bought and fitted PVC sacs. They need different adhesive to shellac. I don't remember which one I used.

Weirdly. I have several CC Sheaffers and not one of them has come with a converter.
Quite a few Parker converters in pens, none in Sheaffers…

As it stands, i refill old cartridges with a syringe since i don't actually own a converter for a Sheaffer!

I just purchased a converter that fits my 1980 Sheaffer Targa from Amazon. It carries the Sheaffer label but I can't verify that Sheaffer makes it.

Please could you add the link for it as I can't find it and am guessing it might not be under the brand name Sheaffer? Thanks

I found one on Amazon.ca, but it's not cheap:

As they are from 2006 and 2015 they look like my original old ones and I would expect them to fit many Sheaffer pens.
I was advised that the very latest version wouldn't fit a No Nonsense but I've never seen the new version so don't know how it differs..
