Default My 1st PIF on FP Geeks

Apologies for the duplicate images in this post. I seem to have either 2 sets of images appearing or none, so I've opted for the former, then at least you can see what you're applying for

    Hi Everyone

This is my first PIF on FPG, which is kind of exciting. To kick things off, I’m offering a lovely Italix Parson’s Essential pen in a shiny black piano lacquer finish, with gold trim. This pen is from Mr Pen in the UK.

It is brand new, un-inked (apart from a quick dip-test), and will be supplied in its original box.

For those of you in the know, the nibs on these pens have a reputation for being super-smooth. The pen I’m offering here has a fine cursive stub, ground by Mr Pen staff in their workshops in England. The pen is a cartridge/converter fill, and will come supplied with the converter.

If you want to know a bit more about the Parson’s Essential I recommend the YouTube video by Sbrebrown https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7skrabcAlw

Here are pictures of the actual pen on offer.

This PIF is open to everyone and I will ship worldwide, but please don't apply if you already have a Parson's Essential.

To apply for this PIF send me a PM with one or two sentences explaining why you would like this pen. I will enter all PMs I judge as valid into a draw and will select the winner using www.random.org.

This PIF will close on Sunday 25th May at 7pm British Summer Time.

    Good luck everyone.

Strange. They're showing in the post on my laptop but I'm new to posting photos on here so I may have done something wrong? If someone else could confirm whether they're showing or not, that would be helpful................

    Nope... not showing up.

You could try getting a photo bucket account to upload them to and then just grab the "Forum" link to post.

That is weird because they show embedded in the post when I look at it, I must say I don't find this forum the easiest or most intuitive to use - it's a bit clunky. I don't want to use Photobucket or other image hosting site.

I will try to edit my post: delete the attachments and add back in and see if that works.

    Thanks for checking for me.

Well I deleted, checked they'd gone from post and then re-attached. But now they are showing up in duplicate on my screen: in-line and at end of post and I promise that I only added them in once. Strange.........

Hi migo, I too see two sets of images. And I saw the images the first time around, also. It's probably got to do with the settings for the mobile layout... Good luck with the PiF here!

Thanks! Nice to see you. I'll get it eventually - I'm a bit of a technophobe LOL. Oh by the way - that Vivaldi ink really does shade that well

    Hi Migo

That's so generous of you and thank you for kick starting PIF here.

I love my fine italic Parson's Essential, which is silky smooth, i'm sure the fine stub you are offering is even smoother. I hope you get many good applications.

Thank you. Yes, it's going very well. Plenty of time for people to enter my PIF. And you're right, the nibs on these Parson's Essentials are a real treat to use.

Time to this one. If you'd like a brand new, shiny black Parson's Essential with a fine cursive stub nib, all you need to do is send me a PM with a brief note about why you'd like this pen, and I'll enter you in the draw, taking place this Sunday evening (BST). Open to everyone, worldwide, (except existing Parson's owners), and I'll pay all shipping costs. Don't miss out folks.

    Hi everyone

I'm sorry I haven't posted the results of my PIF before now but I had a catastrophic laptop meltdown yesterday mid Skype. Basically my laptop completely died. Dead as a dodo. Defunct. Kaput. Fried. Nada. Nothing. Zilch. Knackered

Anyway, I'm back up & running, considerably poorer but happy

I've drawn the winner of my Parson's Essential pen. There were 24 applicants and using random.org the winning number was:

    True Random Number Generator
    Min: 1
    Max: 24
    Result: 7
    Powered by RANDOM.ORG

    Number 7 belongs to Cryptos

Congratulations Cryptos. I'll be in touch by PM for your details and will post off to you this week. I hope you enjoy the pen.

I'm now planning another PIF. This one will be stationery/paper related, so watch this space
