    Default Croco Romedile pen

I was idly browsing ebay and I came upon this item:

    http://www.ebay.ca/itm/22K-GP-CROCO-...item3ce1420784

to me it looks like a modern Chinese pen, and that the seller has made an arithmetic error in the conversion of the price. I may be quite wrong, as I have never heard of Croco Romedile before.

Agreed. Looks like a Chinese pen.

If so, it would seem very overpriced.

Crocodile is a Chinese pen brand (easy to find on AliExpress). Most of their products are near-lookalikes of Mont Blanc, Waterman, etc. I've never seen a Crocodile pen with a literally Crocodile-shaped cilp, though.

But this is not a "Crocodile" pen. Here is a close up of the nib:

It definitely says CROCo Romedile. Of course, I have never seen a Crocodile pen, so maybe they just stamp their nibs like this. I guess I had better go look at few.

Looks like the Crocodile 506A Athens Red/Black Pen. Not an exact match: The clip is textured and the nib is set too far into the body to see if it says "CROCo ROMEDILE". The Lacoste-derived logo is identical, though, and in general the similarities seem to outweigh the differences.

Thanks ardgegee. I am sure that this pen is a variant of the "Crocodile" pen now. The nib I posted is very typical in shape of many modern Chinese pens. I was actually considering the idea that the posted pen is actually a fake of a Crocodile pen. There are surprisingly enough companies that produce fakes of Chinese made rip-off pens.

Either that Albanian seller has an error in pricing or is just trying it on. If the price was more reasonable at say between 1/5 and 1/10 of his asking price, it would be worth considering as a school pen for one of the kids.

No worries. The Albanian seller might have an older version of the pen, which can explain the production differences. When browsing Crocodile's site, I saw a variety of designs on their gold-plated nibs, so it's also possible there's some in-house mixing and matching going on.
