It's been a while, but I had to buy this one, a "Rosemary for Remembrance" pencil. The pen version is well-known and quite sought-after. They were manufactured by Curzon-Lang's at Liverpool - the clip is of course the giveaway.

Beautiful pencil and the barrel imprint hasn't worn much. Hard rubber wears better than celluloid.

The imprint was originally picked out in gold, as on an Osmia. I am thinking of getting a little tin of gold paint and having a go with a very fine brush - both on this and the Osmias.

German pencils for me; Lamy 2000 and Lamy accent, and the Kaweco Sketch-up in bright red or blue swirly acrylic (might have been discontinued; I got mine in a sale).

Mine would have to be the Rotring 600.

My favorite wooden pencil is the Blackwing Palomino 602, although I've ordered a box of the Blackwing Pearl. Very smooth and the erasers are replacable!

It's a tough question, since there are several pencils that I really like. I suppose it is the Eberhard Faber Mongol 482 No. 1 at the moment.

My Uni Kurutoga! The rotating lead mechanism is best at keeping the tip sharp!

This one. It is a Parker dating to the late 1950s. It was my mother's pencil, she gave it to me a few years ago. I do not know what the model is.

Finally I got some of this and it works beautifully - though I might have selected the incorrect shade of gold!

    Thanks again

I generally prefer the Uni Kuru Toga mechanical pencil, as long as I don't have to do shading or something like that, which I do for some kinds of pencil puzzles. The Kuru Toga is designed to rotate the lead a tiny bit every time the pencil is lifted from the page in order to keep a nice point on the lead. If it's not lifted regularly, the lead gets worn down on one area and you don't get the nice point. So if I'm not lifting the pencil from the page frequently, I try to use some other pencil besides the Kuru Toga.

I like and use these a lot:
    - Lamy Scribble
    - Parker Jotter Flighter
    - Rotring 600
    - Staedtler Lumograph
    - Faber-Castell Perfect Pencil with 9000
    - Caran D'Ache 844

Also never tried the Lamy 2000 pencil, probably would be one of the favorite.

Must concur with the Pilot S-20. The reddish brown wood is nice. Second favorite is the Tombow Zoom. After that, it gets muddy.
