Pelikan P1 Needs Greasing

Hi, I have just received a P1, burgundy with rolled gold cap, very nice. The piston is a bit stiff and I think it may need a wee spot of silicone grease. With my M400 I just unscrew the nib and grease it that way. I can't seem to unscrew the P1 nib though, and I don't want to force it. Does anyone know how to remove the nib for greasing, is it just that the nib is stuck with ink, or is there a special way to remove it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

You just need to pull the nib and feed and grease the piston that way.

To get the nib and feed out just screw a cocktail stick in the small hole and pull it out. Then with your grease on an ear bud apply it to the barrel wall through the throat of the pen. The just operate the piston a couple of time and the piston will pick the grease up fine.

Hi Paul-H, Done what you suggested, and it worked a treat. So many uses for the humble toothpick. Piston now super smooth. Thanks for the advice. Bud.
