This is my favorite book on pens, from all angles: collecting, history, values, shows, general information on care and restoration, pretty much everything. Other books (like FPOTW) certainly have a more exhaustive survey of pen companies and the pens, but this is a go-to for me. The author, Paul Erano, is pretty well-known in the pen world, and is currently editor of The Pennant, the thrice-yearly magazine from the Pen Collectors of America. The book has been out of print for a while, and the used copies usually go for a lot, but I saw this one for just over $50 and thought that if anyone has been wanting it, they should go for this BIN:
