    Question Waterman MAN 100 customized.

    Hello geeks.

Could somebody help a french MAN 100 lover to find the name of an U. S. fountain pen customizer who made some MAN 100 with resin from Sheaffer's Balance 1997 L. E. ?
    Thanks a lot.

Bexley did quite a few using Man 100 sections and nibs, in many different materials. I see examples for sale fairly often. I can come up with only this one picture now:

Those pens are beautiful. Did anybody do that sort of thing for Carene?

Bexley used the sections for some of their editions. They also used Sheaffer inlaid and maybe others. It's more that they used the parts for Bexleys rather than a custom Man.
The only custom Carenes I know of are one guy who puts the sections on Phileas barrels, and another who does custom bodywork and paint.

I tried putting a few Carene sections on different Phileas barrels, and only one fine Carene section was satisfactory on one particular Phileas barrel. With the other combinations the Carene section would not screw down far enough to not leave a gap between section and barrel. The caps fit nicely, though. I find the Carene will not post the cap well, it flies off unexpectedly. So, there is one Phileas I have that has a fine Carene section. Cap posts. Cap pulls off more easily. This frankenpen is easier to use than a Carene. Just more convenient in use. It is a bit smoother than a Phileas, but I can now see why so many people like the Phileas.

Those Bexleys look quite nice. Simply beautiful.
