This is my finishing point for today all of the studs are mounted although only four are sewn in place,

I need to sew the other four in position and fit the handle and the last job is to fit the base although I am thinking that as Tiffany is making a wrap to go inside she might need a fixing point inside.
Nearly there
Thanks
Michael
Wow!!! I actually gasped at how beautiful your work is.

Absolutely! I have two pieces of vintage Japanese kimono silk that I've ordered to make an inner wrap to keep the pens from scratching each other, so I'll post pictures of that when it's finished, too. I haven't received the fabric in the mail yet because they are coming from Germany and Australia, but they both spoke to me as I perused the options. I think they'll coordinate well.

Beautiful Tiffany. That will be gorgeous. Actually whole project is wonderful. It deserves a place in your home where people will see it.

I would like to thank you all for joining Tiffany and I on this journey, my part of the journey is now complete the case is finished !
It is an odd feeling to part with something that I have spent such a long time making however I know it is going to a home where it will be cherished and in return Tiffany has given me something I will treasure.
So here are my final pictures of Tiffany' oblique pen quiver
All of the studs are now sewn in place and the handle is fitted

Tiffany, may you use it in very good health. Micheal, That is a work of art to be incredibly proud of. Thank you both for sharing the whole production with the rest of us!

That is just gorgeous. Stunning.

This case is a work of art and a treasure, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Michael has been excellent to work with, and I feel like this project has been a true collaboration with both of us tossing ideas back and forth.
He has simultaneously been working on a Midori style notebook for me during breaks from this project, and I look forward to receiving that as well. I will step back and let Michael work on some other projects for a while, but I'll be back again for sure.

Please tell me you'll be doing a show n tell in Dallas Tiffany
awesome! i can't wait.

I have noticed a small issue with the handle it is sewn and glued in place although it was not designed to take a lot of weight it will hold a 2 litre soda bottle which weighs 2 kg.
I have thought about it and I have decided to add two Chicago studs they are like rivets but screw together, I will pick them up tomorrow I know the handle is not likely to come off but I would not want to take the risk.
I am still applying carnauba wax to the case so it wont cause any delay
Here is the dragon fly notebook cover Tiffany mentioned

It is being finished right now and will be in the same package.
Soon!
I went today to purchase the studs and spoke to a Master Saddler who advised against fitting the studs he suggested that the handle would be best used by putting a hand through and using it as a support,
Normal use would not cause the stitching to give way he pulled on it pretty hard and it passed inspection I am pleased as he said it was very good so I am pleased.
I will finish the notebook cover today and start wrapping it up.
Thanks

I like to share both good and bad
Don't worry Tiffany
I sewed around the edges of the notebook cover yesterday and had planned on making the box today for some strange reason known only to me I used black thread.
DOH I thought there was an emoticon for that but I cant find it
It has caused a delay but it is almost finished now oh well
