I just bought three pens in as many days. I didn't even want the first two. (Well, okay, maybe only the second one I didn't want). But still!!!!

I even sold a high end watch to fund one of these pen purchases.

Oh, I forgot. I got my latest bottle of ink today too. Rohrer & Klingner Alt Goldgrun. Bought it based on an ink review by SBRE Brown.

Ho ho ho: there's the Croxley set and Waterman's 52 I bought yesterday, the Waverley Cameron and old Swan I bought today; and the three Waterman's on their way from the US bought last week - and I nearly forgot - the Wyvern pencil I bought half an hour ago...

Luckily I have a few up for sale.

There are many temptations out there in this pen crazy world. Add to that the awesome enablers on this forum who direct you to a mouthwatering deal which you can't refuse, to a pen store which stocks amazing inks which you always wanted to try - after reading the reviews of these enablers. Can't help but buy more pens and inks

You want an example: i dont like clicky pens. The sound annoys me. When i first saw the pics of the Pilot Vanishing Point, "A clicky fountain pen? Not interested". Then i read the reviews, heard the praises... not interested but curious. Long story short, i have 3 Vanishing Points which i use regularly, might i add.

When you start buying dollar pens just because you don't have enough collective funds to buy a nicer one, just so you can have a new pen, you have a problem.

Though I been in the habit of looking at non-working pens just because I'm able to fix a few of the lever fillers myself, including polishing them up.

I don't need more pens... but I look... and look...

I know what you mean. Where does it stop, I've been pondering that recently. I have the same problem I've spent this years allotted pen funds however "I just want another pen" I guess it just takes some level of restraint not too. I tend to try to avoid here or FPN as that seems to help also I also force myself to use my dreaded Cross Century II which I bought in pen binge, this normally puts me straight as it reminds me how buying pens for the sake of it can result in a bad purchase.

Remember the wanting will eventually fade.

I am in the phase right now with pens. I was in this phase with wrist watches. I've been into those for well over 10 years, collecting, buying, selling and modding high end watches, from Omega, to Rolex. I even owned a Montblanc Timewalker at one time. I've paired down my watch collection to just the essentials. I know I only have one wrist for my watch and one hand to write with for my pen, but I know, one day, I'll be handing over my high end watches and pens to my two girls when they are old enough to appreciate them. I'll keep the Jinhaos for TWSBI's for myself.

(That's my excuse to buy 3X as many pens!!!! - I knew there was a silver lining to all this)

heh hehh.. My 8 yo already recognizes SBRE Brown's Gregorian chant at the beginning of his pen reviews and copies his "Hey there" finger pointing to the camera.

She even said one day; "Daddy, can I see MY watch?" (I showed her her Dora watch, and she just rolled her eyes...)

I'm lucky my taste in pens is pretty specific. Helps curb the impulse.

Big problem is the ones I really like are bloody expensive! I'm looking at you Nakaya and Visconti.

Or knives. That is the latest bug that has caught me. Trouble is, one of my knives I already know is illegal to carry in the UK, not sure about Spain yet.
